PM SHRI KV Bhandup is run by KVS, an Autonomous Body under the Ministry of Education , Government of India , and is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education and follows a curriculum and a programme of education being followed by all other KVs to cater to the educational needs of children of transferable Central Government employees including Defense & Para-military forces.
PM Shri KV Bhandup was incepted in 1984, in NCH colony Kanjurmarg , to accommodate the children of the employees of the Naval Dockyard..

A second shift has been into function since 2017 to accommodate the ever increasing demand of seats. It has 1 section each from class I to X.
The Vidyalaya has been included in the scheme of PM Shri schools in the academic session 2023 and achieved tremendous progress in the areas of infrastructure as well as pedagogy by implementing the policy recommendations in line with NEP 2020. This has confirmed PM SHRI KV Bhandup’s positions as one of the prominent KVs of Mumbai region.
The Vidyalaya ensures commendable participation in multifaceted academic and co curricular activities envisaged by the KVS as well as a wide range of outside agencies, resulting in the overall development of students. The able guidance of the KVS , the support of the VMC, parents and other stakeholders as well as the untiring efforts of the staff and students have been instrumental in the journey of PM Shri KV Bhandup towards the goal of excellence.
